Target Information
MINA is a nuclear-localized, myc-inducible protein involved in mammalian cell proliferation. Knockdown of MINA in cancer cell lines such as SW680 inhibits cell growth, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target.
MINA regulates genes associated with cell adhesion and metabolism, some of which are Myc-regulated, and others such as EGFR, IL-6, and HGF that are not. It also represses IL-4 expression in T cells, indicating a role in T cell differentiation and Th2 bias.
