Target Information
DR3 (TNFRSF25) is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily, expressed predominantly in lymphocyte-rich tissues. It plays a role in lymphocyte homeostasis, stimulates NF-kappa B activity, and regulates apoptosis. Signal transduction occurs via death domain-containing adaptor proteins. Knockout studies in mice suggest DR3/TNFRSF25 contributes to the removal of self-reactive T cells in the thymus. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, with most encoding potentially secreted molecules. Upon T-cell activation, alternative splicing produces full-length, membrane-bound isoforms, which may regulate lymphocyte proliferation.
