Target Information
TRAIL-R1 (CD261, DR4) is a type I transmembrane protein, also known as TRAIL receptor 1. It binds TRAIL, a ligand belonging to the TNF family. DR4 mediates apoptosis and NF-κB activation in various cells and tissues. Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is essential for normal cellular differentiation and development in multicellular organisms. It is induced by interactions between cytokines (such as TNF, Fas ligand) and their death domain-containing receptors (TNFR1, Fas receptor).
