Target Information
Integrin alpha 1 (ITGA1) associates with beta 1 (ITGB1) to form a heterodimer functioning as a dual laminin/collagen receptor in neural and hematopoietic cells.
ITGA1 includes a 206-amino acid I domain, three divalent cation-binding sites, a transmembrane domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail.
It has 28 potential N-glycosylation sites and is expressed as a 180-kD protein in mouse fibroblast cells.
ITGA1 is involved in osteoarthritic cartilage remodeling and regulates mesenchymal stem cell proliferation and cartilage production.
