Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of CaMKII alpha/beta/delta only when phosphorylated at Threonine 305.

Target Information

The Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases (CaM kinases) comprise a structurally related subfamily of serine/threonine kinases, including CaMKI, CaMKII, and CaMKIV.
CaMKII is a ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine protein kinase activated by Ca²⁺ and calmodulin (CaM), implicated in regulation of cell cycle and transcription.
There are four CaMKII isozymes (alpha, beta, gamma, delta), which may be co-expressed in the same tissue type.
CaMKII alpha is autophosphorylated on Thr286 upon Ca²⁺/CaM complex binding to its autoinhibitory domain — a process known as Ca²⁺/CaM trapping, thought to play a role in synaptic encoding of information.
