Target Information
The HAT1 gene encodes a type B histone acetyltransferase involved in the rapid acetylation of newly synthesized cytoplasmic histones, which are imported into the nucleus for chromatin assembly.
HAT1 acetylates soluble histone H4 at lysines 5 and 12, and histone H2A at lysine 5, contributing to replication-dependent chromatin assembly.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene.
