Product Specific Information

  • RP105 often migrates at 95–105 kDa in SDS-PAGE, despite its predicted molecular weight.
  • Suggested positive control: human spleen tissue lysate.
  • PA5-20251 can be used with blocking peptide PEP-0373.

Target Information

CD180 (also known as RP105, Bgp95, LY64) is a type I membrane glycoprotein and a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family.
Unlike other TLRs, CD180 lacks the TIR domain in its cytoplasmic tail. Its expression depends on coexpression with MD-1 and parallels TLR4 expression in antigen-presenting cells.

CD180 regulates LPS recognition and B cell signaling by interacting with the TLR4 complex, thereby modulating microbial ligand binding.
Engagement of CD180 by monoclonal antibodies induces B cell activation, upregulation of CD80/CD86, and cell enlargement.
Structurally, CD180 contains extracellular leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and a short cytoplasmic tail, forming the RP105/MD-1 receptor complex.
Dysfunction of CD180 is associated with Kawasaki disease in children and may contribute to rheumatic disease pathology.
