Monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.

Applications Reported:
This eBRG1 antibody has been reported for use in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical staining.

Applications Tested:
Tested by immunohistochemistry on frozen mouse tissue. Use isotype control at the same concentration as experimental antibody.

Filter Recommendation:
For eFluor™ 570 conjugate, use filters capturing 570 nm emission (e.g., Excitation 545/25, 565LP, Emission 605/70).
Standard Alexa Fluor™ 555 or TRITC filters are acceptable.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies commonly used in research and diagnostics. These antibodies are produced by rats in response to antigens and can be purified from serum or hybridoma culture supernatants. Rat IgG1 is typically used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is also utilized in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting to detect specific antigens.

Gene targeting enables manipulation of the rat genome to generate models for studying human diseases. Specific genes can be knocked out, inserted, or modified to investigate their roles in disease pathogenesis.
