This antibody detects endogenous levels of MSK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser212.
Target Information
RPS6KA5 (MSK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase essential for the regulation of various cellular processes. It is required for mitogen- or stress-induced phosphorylation of transcription factors such as CREB1 and ATF1, and regulates RELA, STAT3, and ETV1/ER81. MSK1 contributes to gene activation through histone phosphorylation and plays a role in inflammatory gene regulation. It phosphorylates CREB1 and ATF1 in response to stimuli such as UV-C irradiation, EGF, and anisomycin. In skeletal myoblasts, it is required for RELA phosphorylation at Ser-276 during oxidative stress, and in erythropoietin-stimulated cells, it is necessary for STAT3 Ser-727 phosphorylation and transcriptional regulation.
