Target Information
CHCHD3 is a component of the MICOS complex, a large protein complex of the mitochondrial inner membrane that plays crucial roles in maintaining crista junctions, inner membrane architecture, and forming contact sites to the outer membrane. It also functions as a transcription factor binding to the BAG1 promoter and repressing BAG1 transcription. Plays an important role in maintaining MICOS complex stability and mitochondrial cristae morphology.
