This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CEP164.
Target Information
CEP164 was initially identified as a centrosomal protein, but subsequent studies revealed its role in the formation of primary cilia and in the DNA damage response as a mediator protein. CEP164 interacts with ATR and ATM, key regulators of DNA damage-induced cell cycle checkpoints. It becomes phosphorylated upon replication stress, UV radiation, and ionizing radiation. Silencing of CEP164 reduces DNA damage-induced phosphorylation of several proteins in the signaling cascade and compromises cell survival after UV damage. At least two isoforms of CEP164 are known to exist.
