Product Specific Information
The RB6-8C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ly-6G, a 21–25 kDa GPI-linked protein also known as the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1. Gr-1 is expressed by myeloid lineage cells in a developmentally regulated manner in the bone marrow.
Monocytes express Gr-1 transiently during development, while granulocytes and peripheral neutrophils show strong Gr-1 expression, making it a reliable marker for these populations.
eBioscience testing indicates that clone RB6-8C5 also stains cells expressing high levels of Ly6C. For Ly-6G specific detection, clone 1A8-Ly6G (Product #9668) is recommended.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Suitable for flow cytometry of mouse bone marrow and splenocyte suspensions at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration is recommended.
Fluorochrome Information:
Alexa Fluor® 700 emits at 723 nm and is excited with a red laser (633 nm). Recommended filter setup: 685 LP mirror and 710/20 filter.
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 723 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Post-manufacturing filtered through 0.2 µm.

Granulocytes are white blood cells characterized by cytoplasmic granules and lobed nuclei (polymorphonuclear leukocytes). Neutrophils are the most abundant type. These cells are released from bone marrow under regulation by complement proteins.
