Product Specific Information
The PK136 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse NK1.1, an antigen expressed by natural killer cells and a subset of T cells in NK1.1 mouse strains including C57BL and NZB.
Common laboratory strains such as BALB/c, SJL, AKR, CBA, C3H, and A do not express NK1.1 antigen. For these strains, use the DX5 monoclonal antibody (Product # 14-5971).
Simultaneous staining of C57BL/6 spleen cells with PK136 and DX5 shows coexpression of both markers by a majority of cells, with small populations of DX5⁺PK136⁻ and DX5⁻PK136⁺ cells.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes, ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Careful titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information
NK1.1 (KLRB1, NKR-P1A, CD161) is a C-type lectin-like receptor expressed by natural killer (NK) cells.
It mediates cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion upon immune stimulation. The KLRB1 protein features extracellular lectin motifs, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain, classifying it as a type II membrane protein.
NKR-P1A recognizes Lectin Like Transcript-1 (LLT1) as its functional ligand.
