Target Information
Stathmin 1 belongs to the stathmin family of genes and encodes a ubiquitous cytosolic phosphoprotein that functions as an intracellular relay integrating regulatory signals of the cellular environment. It regulates the microtubule filament system by destabilizing microtubules, preventing assembly and promoting disassembly. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
