Mast Cell Chymase는 chymotryptic serine proteinase로, peptidase family S1에 속합니다. 비만세포에서 발현되며, 세포외기질 분해, 점막하선 분비 조절, 혈관작용성 펩타이드 생성에 관여합니다. 심장과 혈관에서 angiotensin I을 angiotensin II로 전환하는 주요 효소로, 혈압 조절 및 심혈관 질환(고혈압, 심비대, 심부전)과 관련이 있습니다. 이 유전자는 14q11.2에 위치하며, 다른 protease 유전자들과 군집을 이룹니다.
