Product Specific Information
- Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
- Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.

Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors. TNF alpha regulates immune cells, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. It exists as multimers of two to five noncovalently linked units, showing a single 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. Knockout studies in mice suggest its neuroprotective role and tumor necrosis induction. TNF alpha plays roles in immune response to infections and tumor cytolysis, and is implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
