Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody recognizes both native and recombinant human IL-17A in cell supernatants and certain body fluids.
A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.
Cross-reactivity with IL-17 from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses in various cell types. It is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer (136 amino acids) belonging to the IL-17A–17F family and signals through IL-17R (CDw217).
Human IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulates epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
It also supports proliferation and maturation of hematopoietic progenitors into neutrophils.
IL-17A regulates NF-κB and MAPK activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide production.
