Product Specific Information
The APB5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD140b (PDGFRB), the beta chain of the platelet-derived growth factor receptor. PDGFRB is a receptor tyrosine kinase that forms dimers (α/α, β/β, or α/β) upon ligand binding and phosphorylates substrates. It is expressed in embryonic and mesenchymal-derived adult mouse tissues and plays a role in fibrous atherosclerotic lesion formation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on NIH/3T3 cells at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.
Optical Properties: Excitation 488–561 nm; Emission 578 nm; compatible with Blue, Green, Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
PDGFRB is a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in atherogenesis and SIS oncogene-mediated transformation. It acts as a mitogen for mesenchymal-origin cells. Depending on the ligand, PDGFRB forms homodimers or heterodimers with PDGFRA. The gene is located on chromosome 5, near GM-CSF and M-CSFR genes, all implicated in 5q syndrome. A translocation between chromosomes 5 and 12 fusing PDGFRB with ETV6 is associated with chronic myeloproliferative disorders with eosinophilia.
