Target Information
Signal-induced proliferation associated-like protein 3 (SIPA1L3) is a member of the SIPA1 family of RapGAPs. SIPA1L3 is a molecular component of tight junctions and adherens junctions, suggesting a role in balancing Rap1 activity by counteracting RapGEFs.
Studies indicate deregulation of SIPA can lead to myeloproliferative stem cell disorders in mice and increased metastasis in human cancers. SIPA1L1 may also play roles in embryonic development and cell proliferation. Due to sequence homology, SIPA1L3 may have similar functions.
