Target Information
Signal-induced proliferation associated-like protein 2 (SIPA1L3) is a member of the SIPA1 family of RapGAPs. SIPA1L3 was identified as a novel molecular component of tight and adherens junctions, suggesting a role in balancing Rap1 activity by counteracting RapGEFs. Deregulation of SIPA family proteins has been linked to myeloproliferative disorders and increased metastasis in cancers. SIPA1L3 may also play roles in embryonic development and cell proliferation regulation.
