PEP-1548 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34505.
Target Information
The CCL2 gene is part of a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 17q. Cytokines are secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. This protein is structurally related to the CXC cytokine subfamily, characterized by two cysteines separated by a single amino acid.
CCL2 exhibits chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. It is implicated in diseases with monocytic infiltrates, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis.
CCL2 binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
