Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of SHP-1 only when phosphorylated at Tyr564.
Target Information
SHP-1 (PTPN6) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase primarily expressed in hematopoietic cells. It contains two SH2 domains, a catalytic tyrosine phosphatase domain, and a C-terminal regulatory domain. SHP-1 downregulates tyrosine kinase-regulated signaling pathways by dephosphorylating target proteins. In hematopoietic cells, SHP-1 binds to phosphorylated erythropoietin receptors (EpoR) to negatively regulate hematopoietic growth. Overexpression in epithelial cells leads to dephosphorylation of Ros receptor tyrosine kinase and suppression of Ros-dependent proliferation and transformation. In myeloid cells, SHP-1 associates with the IL-3R beta chain to downregulate IL-3-induced phosphorylation and proliferation.
