Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
Carbonic anhydrase II antibody is purified from monospecific antiserum via delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis. Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified Carbonic Anhydrase II [Bovine Erythrocytes]. Cross-reactivity with other species may occur but has not been determined.
Target Information
CA2 is one of several isozymes of carbonic anhydrase, catalyzing the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Defects in CA2 are associated with osteopetrosis and renal tubular acidosis.
