Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Catalase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis. Immunoelectrophoresis assay produced a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified Catalase (Bovine Liver). Cross-reactivity with Catalase from other species may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

Catalase is a homotetrameric heme-containing enzyme located in the peroxisomal matrix. It catalyzes the dismutation of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Human catalase contains a C-terminal peroxisome targeting sequence (-KANL). The monomer has a molecular weight of 61.3 kDa. Catalase plays roles in inflammation, mutagenesis, apoptosis prevention, and tumor progression. Deficiency leads to acatalasemia (Takahara’s disease).
