Target Information

GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein present in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, where it catalyzes various reactions.
Glutathione S-transferase is used to create the GST gene fusion system, allowing purification of GST-fusion proteins via high affinity for glutathione.
Fusion proteins provide a useful biological assay for direct protein-to-protein interactions.
The GST gene fusion system has been introduced into numerous expression vectors.
