SPRY domains were first described in the fungal Dictyostelium discoideum tyrosine kinase spore lysis A. These domains often provide binding sites for regulatory proteins or intramolecular interactions that maintain protein structural integrity. The specific function of SPRYD3 remains largely unknown.
