Target Information
IL-3Ra (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha) belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family and forms a heterodimer with a unique alpha chain paired with the common beta (βc or CDw131) subunit. IL-3Ra mediates the signaling of Interleukin-3. Heterodimerization of IL-3Ra and IL-3Rb chains is induced by Interleukin-3, which is required for receptor activation but not for high-affinity binding. Overexpression of IL-3Ra subunits has been reported in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts compared to normal hematopoietic cells, making it a potential target for novel therapeutic agents.
