Target Information
FPR1 is a member of chemoattractant/chemokine GPCRs expressed mainly on leukocytes, neutrophils, and monocytes.
It is a seven-transmembrane pertussis toxin-sensitive GPCR that binds to formylated peptides generated by bacteria, resulting in leukocyte trafficking to sites of inflammation.
Ligand binding to FPR activates multiple effectors, including phospholipase C, leading to calcium mobilization and PKC activation.
FPR signaling is also involved in actin cytoskeleton polarization, integrin activation, cell migration, phagocytosis, degranulation, and the release of reactive oxygen intermediates.
