Cdc20은 anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C)의 완전한 유비퀴틴 리가아제 활성을 위해 필요하며, 복합체의 기질 특이성을 부여할 수 있습니다. MAD2L1에 의해 조절되며, metaphase에서는 MAD2L1-CDC20-APC/C 삼합체가 비활성 상태이고 anaphase에서는 CDC20-APC/C 복합체가 활성화되어 기질을 분해합니다. 또한 CDC20-APC/C 복합체는 postmitotic neuron에서 시냅스 소포의 클러스터링과 presynaptic membrane으로의 부착을 촉진하며, NEUROD2의 분해를 유도하여 presynaptic 분화를 유도합니다.
