• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

The inhibin alpha subunit joins either the beta A or beta B subunit to form a pituitary FSH secretion inhibitor.
Inhibin negatively regulates gonadal stromal cell proliferation and exhibits tumor-suppressor activity.
Serum levels of inhibin reflect the size of granulosa-cell tumors and can serve as a marker for primary and recurrent disease.
In prostate cancer, expression of the inhibin alpha-subunit gene is suppressed and undetectable in poorly differentiated tumor cells.
Expression in gonadal and extragonadal tissues varies in a tissue-specific manner, suggesting that inhibin acts as both a growth/differentiation factor and a hormone.
