Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW) depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g for 5 min).
Target Information
Neuregulin 1 (NRG1) was originally identified as a 44-kDa glycoprotein that interacts with the NEU/ERBB2 receptor tyrosine kinase to increase tyrosine phosphorylation.
Various isoforms of NRG1 are generated through alternative splicing, including heregulins (HRGs), glial growth factors (GGFs), and sensory and motor neuron-derived factor (SMDF).
These isoforms are tissue-specific and structurally distinct. HRG isoforms contain immunoglobulin (Ig) and EGF-like domains; GGF isoforms include kringle-like, Ig, and EGF-like domains; SMDF shares only the EGF-like domain.
All NRG1 isoforms interact with ERBB family receptors, inducing growth and differentiation of epithelial, neuronal, glial, and other cell types.
