1 µg/mL of MA5-45129 detects HSF1 in 20 µg of heat-shocked HeLa cell lysate by ECL immunoblot using Goat anti-rat IgG: HRP as secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 85 kDa (unstressed cell lysates) and approximately 95 kDa (heat-shocked cell lysates).

Target Information

Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) regulates transcription of heat shock genes by binding to heat shock response elements (HSEs), composed of three repeats of a 5-nucleotide {nGAAn} module.
HSF1 and HSF2 share 38% sequence identity and respond to distinct stimuli.
HSF1 is activated by heat, heavy metals, and oxidative stress, transitioning from a monomeric to trimeric nuclear state that binds DNA.
Phosphorylation of HSF1 is essential for maximal transcriptional activation of heat shock genes.
