Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 associates non-covalently with alpha integrins (CD49a–f) to form VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes, as well as with CD51. These heterodimers mediate cellular adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. CD29-containing integrins bind extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and can interact with cellular receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Each product includes one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells at ≤0.2 µg/test. One test is defined as staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.

Important Notes:

  • NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, or DAPI.
  • Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for compatibility.
  • CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates.
  • Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.
  • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates are based on Phiton™ technology using novel nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimized fluorescent signatures with minimized spillover and spread.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types including all leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with at least six alpha chains (α1–α6) to determine VLA integrin binding properties. Functions as a cell adhesion molecule on platelets and in extracellular matrix interactions. Decreased ITGB1 expression correlates with tumor multidrug resistance. It is upregulated during leukocyte migration and plays roles in immune cell trafficking, tissue damage, and inflammation. Two major isoforms, β1A and β1D, exhibit tissue-specific distribution.
