Target Information
The TRIM27 gene encodes a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, featuring three zinc-binding domains (RING, B-box type 1, B-box type 2) and a coiled-coil region. This protein localizes to the nuclear matrix and interacts with the enhancer of polycomb protein to repress gene transcription. It may play a role in male germ cell differentiation. Fusion of its N-terminus with the truncated C-terminus of the RET gene product results in the ret transforming protein.
