Specifically recognizes an epitope encoded by exon v7 on the variant portion of human CD44.
Standard CD44 (CD44s) lacks the variable region and is mainly found in lymphohematopoietic cells.
Multiple isoforms (CD44v1–CD44v11) contain alternatively spliced exons within the extracellular domain.

Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa cell surface glycoprotein widely expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and some epithelial cells of the intestine and breast.
It functions as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and plays roles in cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration.
CD44 contributes to lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing.
Expression may be up-regulated in certain carcinomas, potentially related to metastatic potential.
