Target Information
PUF60 encodes a Ro RNP-binding protein that interacts with Ro RNPs, potentially conferring a gain of function. It forms a ternary complex with far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing c-myc reporter via FUSE. It targets transcription factor IIH and inhibits activated transcription. This gene is implicated in xeroderma pigmentosum disorder, with two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms and evidence of multiple polyadenylation sites.
