Product Specific Information

  • For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below.
  • Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
  • Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
  • Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
  • Dilute only before immediate use.

Assay Results:
Immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-rabbit serum, purified and partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase (Calf intestine). Cross-reactivity with other species or tissue forms may occur but has not been determined. No reaction observed against bacterial enzyme forms.

Target Information

Alkaline phosphatase is a homodimeric enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms per monomer, essential for catalytic function. It is active in alkaline pH environments and is found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

  • Plays a role in liver metabolism and skeletal development.
  • In bacteria, acts as a source of inorganic phosphate.
  • In yeast, useful for studying membrane protein sorting.
