No cross-reactivity occurs against the mammalian form of Alkaline Phosphatase.
Target Information
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a homodimeric protein enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms essential for catalytic function per monomer. It is optimally active at alkaline pH and is found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, performing similar functions with structural adaptations to each organism.
ALP plays roles in liver metabolism and skeletal development in mammals, and in bacteria, it acts as a source of inorganic phosphate. In yeast, ALP can be used to study membrane protein sorting.
