Product Specific Information
The MA5-14572 immunogen is recombinant protein encoding human CD23 (amino acids 48–248).
Target Information
CD23 is a 45 kDa glycoprotein present on a subpopulation of peripheral blood and tonsil B cells and is strongly expressed on EBV-transformed B lymphoblasts. It is identical to the low-affinity IgE receptor found on B cells. CD23 expression is observed in neoplastic cells from cases of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia and some centroblastic/centrocytic lymphomas. Functionally, CD23 is involved in B-cell growth, differentiation, and IgE production. A soluble form of CD23 acts as a potent mitogenic factor. Diseases associated with CD23 dysfunction include chronic conjunctivitis and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
