Target Information
CD158d / KIR2DL4 is a member of the KIR family that shares structural features with both activating and inhibitory receptors, potentially mediating different functions depending on context. It contains a cytoplasmic ITIM domain, suggesting inhibitory function, but also a transmembrane domain similar to activating KIRs. CD158d acts as an inhibitory receptor for peripheral and uterine NK cells, yet ligation with soluble mAbs can activate IFN-gamma secretion. It binds both membrane-bound and soluble forms of its ligand HLA-G.
