This antibody detects endogenous levels of PAK3 only when phosphorylated at Ser186.

Target Information

PAK proteins are critical effectors linking Rho GTPases to cytoskeleton reorganization and nuclear signaling.
They are serine/threonine p21-activating kinases that serve as targets for small GTP-binding proteins Cdc42 and RAC, and are involved in various biological processes.
Alpha, beta, and gamma PAK isoforms complex specifically with Rac1 and Cdc42 in their active GTP-bound state, inhibiting intrinsic GTPase activity and leading to autophosphorylation.
There are eight autophosphorylation sites on gammaPAK, including Ser19, Ser141, and Thr402, with phosphorylation of Ser141 and Thr402 correlated with activation.
Once phosphorylated, the PAK isoforms reduce affinity for Rac/Cdc42 and dissociate to interact with downstream substrates.
