Product Specific Information

The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells.
CD29 forms heterodimers with alpha integrins (CD49a–f) to create VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes, mediating cellular adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation.
Integrins containing CD29 bind to extracellular matrix proteins (collagen, laminin, fibronectin, vitronectin) and cellular receptors (VCAM-1, MadCAM-1).

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Mouse bone marrow cells, ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume)

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited by the blue laser (488 nm).
Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative).

Fixation:
Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.


Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29)
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by many cell types, including all leukocytes.
Forms non-covalent heterodimers with alpha chains (α1–α6), defining VLA integrins.
Functions as a cell adhesion molecule involved in platelet activation, immune cell trafficking, and extracellular matrix binding.
Decreased ITGB1 expression correlates with multidrug resistance in tumor cells.
Up-regulated during leukocyte migration, contributing to inflammatory responses and tissue damage regulation.
Two major isoforms: β1A (most tissues) and β1D (cardiac and skeletal muscle).
