Product Specific Information

The TS2/16 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD29 (Integrin β1), a ~130 kDa single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein.
CD29 forms heterodimers with integrin alpha subunits to create the VLA (very late antigen) adhesion molecule family, mediating cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion.

• Expression: Broadly on lymphocytes and monocytes; lower on granulocytes
• Functional note: TS2/16 antibody has activating activity for β1 integrins
• Application: Validated for flow cytometric analysis
• Tested use: 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

Fluorophore Information
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited by the 488 nm blue laser.
Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in:

• 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54)
  for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal fluorescence loss.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29) is a 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed on various cell types including all leukocytes.
It forms non-covalent heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), defining VLA integrin binding properties.

• Functions in cell adhesion, migration, and immune cell trafficking
• Expression changes correlate with multidrug resistance in tumor cells
• Upregulated during leukocyte emigration and inflammatory responses
• Plays roles in fibronectin/collagen-mediated cytokine secretion
• Two isoforms: β1A (ubiquitous) and β1D (cardiac/skeletal muscle-specific)
