Target Information
PRPF18 (pre-mRNA-splicing factor 18), also known as HPRP18, is a 342 amino acid protein localized to nuclear speckles and involved in the second step of pre-mRNA splicing.
It belongs to the PRP18 family and contains seven WD repeats. Two alternatively spliced isoforms are encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 10p13.
Chromosome 10 includes over 800 genes and 135 million nucleotides. The PTEN tumor suppressor gene is located on chromosome 10, and its defects are associated with Cowden syndrome and other disorders such as Cockayne syndrome, tetrahydrobiopterin deficiency, and trisomy 10.
