Product Specific Information

Description:
The monoclonal antibody OX104 recognizes human CD200 (OX2), a member of the Ig superfamily with two Ig domains, a transmembrane, and cytoplasmic domain. CD200 is expressed on resting and activated B cells, subsets of T cells, keratinocytes, peripheral and central nerve cells, follicular dendritic cells, and ovarian cells. Interaction with CD200R leads to macrophage activation (IL-6 production), inhibition of mast cell degranulation, and reduced TNF-α and IL-13 secretion, resulting in attenuation of lymphocyte activation. CD200 expression on trophoblasts suggests a role in maternal tolerance.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Light Sensitivity:
PE-Cyanine7 is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:

  Store up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein with two immunoglobulin domains, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells, inhibiting macrophage activation. Homologs are found in herpesviruses and poxviruses. CD200 may regulate myeloid cell activity and inhibit macrophage lineage activation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist. CD200 dysfunction is associated with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
