Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a subfamily of phosphotransferases. This enzyme is responsible for the third and final step in L-serine formation, catalyzing magnesium-dependent hydrolysis of L-phosphoserine. It also participates in an exchange reaction between L-serine and L-phosphoserine. Deficiency of this protein is associated with Williams syndrome.
