Antibody detects endogenous levels of NCF2 only when phosphorylated at Thr233.
Target Information
NCF2, NCF1, and a membrane-bound cytochrome b558 are required for activation of the latent NADPH oxidase, which is necessary for superoxide production.
Defects in NCF2 cause chronic granulomatous disease (CGD2), an autosomal recessive cytochrome-b-positive type.
Chronic granulomatous disease is a genetically heterogeneous disorder characterized by the inability of neutrophils and phagocytes to kill ingested microbes, leading to life-threatening bacterial and fungal infections.
