This kit extracts total RNA from low cell number samples and elutes in 20 µL for various downstream applications such as qRT-PCR, RT-PCR, microarrays, and NGS.
Purifies all RNA sizes (mRNA, lncRNA, miRNA) without phenol and binds small RNAs regardless of GC content.

Norgen’s Total RNA Purification Micro Kit enables RNA extraction from as little as a single cell. Total RNA was extracted from decreasing numbers of HeLa cells and used in RT-qPCR to detect the human S14 transcript. Detection was successful from a single cell.

FAQs
Why do I have poor RNA recovery?
Possible causes include incomplete lysis, column clogging, incorrect elution solution, missing ethanol addition, or low RNA content in samples. Ensure proper buffer use and ethanol addition.
Why are columns clogged?
May result from excessive starting material, insufficient lysis, high genomic DNA, or low centrifuge temperature.
Why is RNA degraded?
RNase contamination, slow procedure, improper storage, thawed tissues, or high RNase content may cause degradation.
Why does RNA perform poorly in downstream applications?
Residual salts or ethanol carryover can interfere. Ensure thorough washing and dry spin.
Genomic DNA contamination
Use RNase-free DNase I digestion (Norgen Cat. 25710) after elution to remove DNA.
