Target Information
DAAM2 is a recently identified planar cell polarity (PCP) signaling molecule implicated in the regulation of cellular polarity, convergent extension, and invasion.
DAAM2 belongs to the formin homology family and contains:
- DAD (diaphanous autoregulatory) domain
- FH1 (formin homology 1) domain
- FH2 (formin homology 2) domain
- GBD/FH3 (Rho GTPase-binding/formin homology 3) domain
DAAM2 is known to be involved in cell division. Although its exact function is not fully understood, it is closely related to DAAM1 and may participate in Wnt/Fz signaling, activation of Rho, and regulation of cytoskeleton architecture.
DAAM2 is expressed in most tissues, with higher expression levels observed in the brain.
