Product Specific Information
The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mu heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with other mouse immunoglobulin classes (IgD, IgG, IgA). IgM is expressed intracellularly in early B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues. Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤1.0 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Fluorochrome characteristics:
Super Bright 436 is excited with a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 436 nm. Recommended detection filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility.
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information
Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigen exposure. It is the first antibody produced during an immune response and the largest immunoglobulin in serum. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, IgM mediates complement activation and antigen agglutination, playing a key role in innate immunity. It is widely used in research and diagnostics, including ELISA, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry.
